Punch Drunk Wonderland started with a simple observation: most fantasy football content falls into one of two camps. On one side, you have corporate outlets pumping out algorithm-approved listicles that could have been written by a committee of venture capitalists. On the other, you have Reddit threads and Discord servers where the actual good analysis lives, buried under forty pages of noise.
PDW exists in the gap between those two things. You get long-form analysis with a point of view, backed by actual data and real research — not generated to match trending keywords or hit word count targets. The gonzo style is intentional. Fantasy football is not a serious topic, but the preparation behind it can be. This site treats it that way.
What You Will Find Here
Player analysis and rankings. We maintain our own tier-based fantasy football rankings across Standard, PPR, and IDP formats. These are updated regularly and driven by actual research, not copy-pasted consensus numbers from whatever site is trending that week.
Draft strategy and sleeper coverage. The preseason is about finding value where other managers are not looking. Our draft prep articles focus on the gap between expert consensus and actual ADP — that is where championships are won.
Platform reviews and tool recommendations. From ESPN to Sleeper to MyFantasyLeague, we break down where you should actually play your leagues and what free tools give you the biggest edge.
Hot takes with receipts. Not every article is a deep dive. Sometimes the best fantasy football content comes from calling out a bad idea before your league mates fall for it. When we have a hot take, it is backed by data. When we are just ranting, we will tell you.
What You Will Not Find Here
No clickbait headlines. No "top 50 sleepers" lists designed to maximize clicks. No articles written purely to satisfy SEO checklists. And no content that says "every player matters" when half of them clearly do not.
The Name
Yes, it is a Terry Gilliam reference. No, we will not explain it further. If you know, you know. If you do not, the gonzo tone will make sense to you eventually.
The Writer
PDW is run by a fantasy football obsessive who has been playing since the late 2000s, has won leagues and lost leagues, and has spent significantly more time on draft boards than on actual relationships. The analysis comes from years of experience, hundreds of hours of film and stats review, and a genuine understanding of how fantasy football actually works — which is rarely the same as how it is supposed to work.
